Description
The Banded Cat Shark is considered one of the best sharks for the home saltwater aquarium because of its smaller size compared to many other sharks. But like all sharks, this one has the possibility of inflicting a very painful bite, especially when provoked. Care should be taken when cleaning the tank and feeding.
They prefer reefs and tide pools and are frequently found sitting in sandy areas on the ocean floor. Sharks tend to act aggressively toward other fish, particularly smaller ones.
Be sure to house with larger, aggressive species. Sharks should not be exposed to copper based medications as this will cause illness.

Ordered a 6-8 inch Banded Cat on Wednesday. I was informed that there would be a delay in shipping due to availability of a 8 inch shark. Michael went beyond the call of duty and offered an 8 inch Marbled Cat in Its place. I couldn’t be happier!!!
My shark arrived the next day and, in less than 24 hours, he’s already eating!!! This is my first time purchasing a shark online and my first time ever doing business with Pete’s Aquarium! I WILL DEFINITELY DO BUSINESS HERE AGAIN!

I did it again!
With my purchase of our new Marbled Cat Shark, I decided to get the banded bamboo as well! Michael again went above and beyond my expectations. The shark is fat and healthy, has tons of personality, and eats like a trash compactor! He already knows me when I approach the tank. He shares the tank with my marbled cat without issues.
I enjoy the personal experience that Pete’s provides. Not only do they send the healthiest sharks possible, but they do it on a personal level. When you speak to them on the phone, you’re speaking to the actual staff. They keep you updated along the way. There’s nothing better than receiving that Fed Ex notice letting you know that your new pet is on the way to your home!
I can’t recommend Pete’s Aquariums strongly enough! I’d give them 10 stars if I could!
